I’m Rhonda Goodall, an author and illustrator of children’s books. My journey began as a labor of love, inspired by a deep need I saw in the world around me.

I’m a wife and mother of five, living in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, with my husband Doug, our youngest son, and our dog, Doogle.

My first published books, My Pancreas Needs Glasses and Frizzle (the first in the Frizzle series), were created to help children better understand complex medical issues—whether they’re experiencing them personally or supporting a friend—and to highlight the importance of family, no matter what it looks like or how it comes to be.

These topics are close to my heart.

Writing these stories came easily to me, but the illustrations were more challenging due to the beautiful chaos of being a wife and raising a large family. For a time, the books sat unfinished.

Six years later, after losing my mom—my lifelong light—in a horrific and tragic accident, I knew I needed something to help carry me through the overwhelming grief. I picked up the phone and called a woman I had met months before the accident. Her name was Susan Brandenburg , a writer.

Susan came to our home for a heartfelt conversation, and in that moment, something shifted. Our talk became the spark for a new chapter in my life—one that brought both healing and purpose.

I’ve spent the majority of my life working with children, and I have a deep passion for shaping each child’s world into a safe space filled with happiness, love, and kindness. This message shines through in the books I write and in every character I create. Children immediately fall in love with these fun and unique characters—often without realizing they’re learning meaningful life lessons as their imaginations come to life.

Throughout this journey, my husband has been my unwavering source of strength—loving, supportive, and a true soulmate. Our children have been courageous, kind, and amazing. My dad, his wife, and our entire family have offered constant encouragement along the way. And my mom—she continues to watch over us with love and grace. ❤️
